Turan – a small tourist village in Dalmatia, located between Zadar and Biograd, which is just five kilometres to the North-West. With a population of about 1200 inhabitants.
Summer Turan – a Mecca for lovers to bask on the beach. But beyond that, very near the village is a number of parks of national importance – Kornati, Vransko lake and natural parks such as Telascica and Krka.
If we talk about the history of this place, the settlement existed here in the bronze age, and the first archaeological finds scientists refer to the stone age. Turan was named in honor of the ruins of a medieval fortress that were found in the vicinity of the modern village.
In the centre of the village is the Church of the virgin of the Carmel. Starting from the XV century annually on 16 July here is celebrated temple holiday, so in tourist season there are special events, to participate in which can be anyone. In addition, in this village there are still a few churches that will be interesting as the sights.
