In the city of Borovichi, but rather at its center, on Gagarin square, stood the Vvedensky Cathedral. Close to the Cathedral bell tower in 1835 began the erection of a new Cathedral, a project which was designed by the provincial architect M. Law. During the construction works was appointed a Director of Borovichi painter, architect Marin E. I. Planned construction was completed in 1859. The solemn consecration of the Cathedral took place in 1862, it was consecrated in honor of the Holy Trinity.

The temple was built on a high picturesque location and is decorated in the Empire style, and in form it resembled a cross. Church facades on three sides, beautifully highlighted several columned porticos that are bundled with rectangular altar apse has established the cruciform plan of the building. The Cathedral Chapter and the ceiling is firmly supported by four huge massive post, like marble. The temple was made of cold, summer, and had three altars. With southern, Northern and Western sides of the Trinity Cathedral adorned the porch, each of which was seven steps made of smooth natural stone. The rector of the Cathedral, was appointed Archpriest Cosmas Transfiguration, who worked hard for the benefit of the Cathedral. In 1915 the rector became Archpriest Michael Ilyinsky.

In 1909, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity was visited by the Bishop Andronik of Tikhvin, which struck a surprisingly majestic view of the Cathedral. In 1927, the Council decided to convert for city theatre. In 1930, were thwarted his head, dismantled towers.
