Drama theatre, located in the city of Burgas is one of the most famous in the country. Today it bears the name Adriana Budevski – outstanding Bulgarian actress and pioneer of professional drama theatre in Bulgaria, lived in the XIX-XX centuries.

Theatrical activity in Burgas started to develop in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, when local teachers showed on stage performances of "Shubina Machine" I. In 1900 a large meeting room in the building of the Permanent Commission was converted into a salon with a massive five-meter the scene. As a result of the development of cultural life in 1914 by the city authorities it was decided to establish the town of subsidized permanent theatre.

In 2011, the building underwent extensive renovation work. Today drama theatre in Burgas is a complex, equipped in accordance with modern requirements, which houses two halls: a large, calculated at 298 seats, and small (chamber stage) – 105 places.
