The Church of Sant Esteve is one of the main historical attractions of Andorra La Vella. The temple is situated in the historical centre of the city, among the ancient granite houses of traditional architecture, near the administration building of the commune.

The Church of Sant Esteve in the Romanesque style was built in the XII century and consecrated in honor of St. Stephen. The Church building and its interior was repeatedly rebuilt and altered. And major architectural changes the Church has undergone in the twentieth century, having lost its original appearance. From the original building intact preserved only the semicircular apse in Romanesque style, as well as wall paintings, which are now kept in the National art Museum of Catalonia and in several private collections. In the Museum you can see murals depicting the wedding at Cana, Jesus the Christ before Pilate and the winged bull, formerly in the Church of Sant Esteve. Today, from the works of the Roman era in the Church presents two interesting altarpiece, executed in the Baroque style.
