The castle Žebrák is not in the same city and in the surrounding area. This is not a complete castle and its ruins, which was not reconstructed after the great fire that occurred in this area in 1532. Now the remains of the castle Žebrák look very romantic and attract many tourists. They were ennobled, put the controller, which collects money for access to a large tower which has an observation deck. It offers a luxurious feel and on the town Žebrák, and to the neighbouring castle Tocnik, and the forests that surround them.

Once among the ruined walls, looking at the two extant strong tower – silent witnesses of the former greatness of the fortress, you start to think about the history of the castle Žebrák.

According to local Chronicles, the fortress was built in the XIII century. The owners of the castle were the grandees of the genus Musica who built this fortress for defense purposes, and they have been here very rarely, preferring to live in his friend's castle in Waldeck. But the good situation of the fortress, it was noted Czech rulers, not once stopping here on the way to Prague. This led to the fact that they soon took possession of the castle Žebrák, which no one gave to the destruction of the fortress.

It often took foreign rulers. Under the vaults of the fortress, history was made, conducted important negotiations, and even was concluded Cheb world. But gradually the castle was interested in less and less, it was destroyed, demanded constant attention, but it never received. Soon near this fortress was built by another, called the Hollow and forget about the castle for a long time, and after the fire, and does not prefer to think of destroyed property.
