Castle airport is 3 kilometres from the town of lousã, which is located in the district of Coimbra. More correct name of the castle – the castle of AROS. This name comes from the village of Arosa abandoned by its inhabitants in about 1513.

Legend has it that king Arosa fled from the barbarians, led by the Prince Lusus who occupied the city of Conimbriga, and took refuge in this village, where his secret hideout, the castle of AROS. The king never came back, and what happened to the Princess nobody knows, too. They say the Princess is still in the castle and you can even see her crying. The name of Prince Lusus have changed over time and began to sound like a pocket. There is also a suggestion that the first mention of the castle dates back to the X century.

Castle Luz has played an important role in the battles against the Moors. Unfortunately, to date from the formidable fortress remained only the watchtower, walls and turrets.
