Castle airport is 3 kilometres from the town of lousã, which is located in the district of Coimbra. More correct name of the castle – the castle of AROS. This name comes from the village of Arosa abandoned by its inhabitants in about 1513.

Legend has it that king Arosa fled from the barbarians, led by the Prince Lusus who occupied the city of Conimbriga, and took refuge in this village, where his secret hideout, the castle of AROS. The king was with his daughter, they had the Royal Treasury. According to legend, Prince Loses and Peralta - the king's daughter saw each other, fell madly in love. Lusus chased them hoping to join his beloved. The king, in order to protect his daughter, locked her in the castle together with his treasure, and he went to North Africa for reinforcements. The king never came back, and what happened to the Princess nobody knows, too. They say the Princess is still in the castle and you can even see her crying. The name of Prince Lusus have changed over time and began to sound like a pocket. There is also a suggestion that the first mention of the castle dates back to the X century.

Castle Luz has played an important role in the battles against the Moors. Unfortunately, to date from the formidable fortress remained only the watchtower, walls and turrets. The castle is built of local stone. Since 1910 the castle pocket included in the list of monuments of national importance.
