Street of Saint Patrick (Saint Patrick street – the main shopping street in the Irish city of cork. Locals affectionately refer to as the street of Saint Patrick "pan" and this is one of the favorite places for both locals and visitors to Cork. The street received its name in honor of the patron Saint of Ireland – Saint Patrick.
Cork city centre is built at the mouth of the river Lee split channels marshy Islands. At the Northern end of the street right in front of St. Patrick's bridge you will see the monument revered in Ireland religious figure of the reformer-teetotalist (advocate of temperance) - Theobald Matthew (Matthew's father), by the famous Irish sculptor John Foley (1864).
