The the Devil's throat cave is located in the Western Rhodopes in Bulgaria. Near the cave is Trigrad, and 17 km from the city of Devin. Tourists in the Devil's throat cave formations attract majestic beauty, in this cave there, and the mystery and the extremeness of local places.

Since ancient times, the Devil's throat excites the imagination of people. The entrance to the cave, resembling the head of a devil with spurting from his throat bubbling waterfall, evokes in people the fear and at the same time draws its suspense. According to the legend, it was through the Devil's throat, the singer Orpheus entered the underworld of Hades in search of Eurydice.

Water Trigrad river flow at the mouth of the cave with a height of 42 m. It is the largest waterfall on the Balkan Peninsula. One of the halls of the cave, where the deafening roar of falling water fills the sound space, called Roaring. It is the second biggest cave hall in Bulgaria. Near the entrance, 400 metres, the cave water Tsiganskoi river hidden in a huge 150-meter trap, where a 60-foot gallery, the river emerges from underground to the surface.

Curiosity and imagination kindles the fact that anything that hits the water in the cave Devil's throat, does not appear on the surface. Curious visitors of the cave held a great number of experiments, including paint. These observations give reason to speculate about the size of the system of local underwater rivers.

For tourists originates from an artificial gallery, which leads into the Roaring hall. The route is equipped with steps and railings. In addition to striking a seething roar of water on the road can be seen carved into the rock reliefs. The first one depicts the devil's head – the entrance to the cave, the second – ancient person in the Roaring hall. On the exit, you can see carved on a small spring altar with the figure of the virgin.

For fans of the more extreme local walks the underground organizes descents into the cave in a boat.

The Rhodope mountains are the most hospitable in the late spring and summer. This is the best time to visit the cave Devil's throat. The cave entrance is only allowed with a guide.
