Narovlya Palace – a monument of architecture of classicism of the XIX century. All that remained of the Palace and Park ensemble – the ruins of the Palace built on the high Bank of the Pripyat river.
The estate in the Narovlya belonged to a rich noble nobles to Gorvata, which she inherited from landlords von Hollow in 1816. In 1830, the estate went to one of the four offspring of the family of Gorbatov – Daniel. He started the construction and landscaping of the estate on your own taste and on a Grand scale. Besides the Palace, Daniel Horvtom was built a chapel, an orangery, fountain, rose garden, stables, outbuildings and the entry gate.
Magnificent two-storey Palace was famous for its luxury and refined beauty. Endless gala hall, cosy rooms, a library with a rich collection of rare books, paintings, musical instruments. One room had a ceiling, in the form of gilded stars. One of the Windows was visible to the Pripyat river. Here gathered the most refined society: educated gentlemen and noble ladies waltzed on the mirror balls on the floor, played music, sitting at the piano, and the men smoked cigars and drove leisurely conversations in the office or reading room of the library.
After the revolution, the Imperial Palace was nationalized, all the decoration was stolen and the building was placed under comprehensive school. During the great Patriotic war the Palace was badly damaged, as in the territory of the former estate has been heavy fighting. After the war the building was politano and given to the orphanage.
After the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant Narovlya got infected zone in voluntary resettlement. Now the city background radiation is the same as in Moscow and Minsk, but the city is dead and the beautiful Palace of Gorbatov continues to deteriorate. You can still see these majestic ruins, but if the Palace will not undertake restorers, nature will finish that are unable to make the revolution and the war would finally destroy Narovlya Palace.
