The Santa Clara monastery in 1644 was founded by nuns from the Colombian city of Cartagena. He is considered one of the oldest among the religious buildings of Havana. Its primary purpose was to teach in this building girls from poor families. So is there is a charity hospital. Then, later here is located the Ministry of public works, which he worked until 1982. Then the monastery was returned to its historical status and former greatness.

At the end of XX century the building of the monastery conducted a global restoration, which resulted in the premises discovered secret doors and Windows, wall paintings, tombs, cannonballs and carved decorative elements. Today, all these unique Antiques adorn the interior of the hotel, which opened in the building of the monastery. All rooms have their own unique vintage style and decorated in national and colonial style.
