The main attraction of the city Jaromerice nad Rokytnou, which is home to only 5 thousand people, is a luxurious, lush, delightful castle, which, according to many researchers, is recognized as one of the largest Palace complexes in Bohemia, but also in Europe. It is surrounded by two parks: one created in the French style and is an abundance of open spaces, carefully manicured alleys, figured Pollard trees, and the other is English and lovers of privacy and shaded areas.
A small town on the Austrian border in the XIVth century needed protection from the attacks of the enemy troops. For these purposes, next to it was built a large fortress, which in the XVII century, by decree of the lords Rechenberg, was rebuilt as a Palace. Rechenberg behaved properly and were guilty before the Czech crown, therefore, were deprived of all their belongings. So the castle became the property of the nobles of Questenberg. They hired Italian architects to altered Renaissance Palace in the Baroque style. This is the man we see today.
J. A. Questenberg was a great admirer of various kinds of arts, especially music. In his castle was visited by the most famous musicians of the time. Here was written the first Czech Opera. Still in the castle demonstrates a fine collection of musical instruments, notes and autographs of the great composers.
In the castle there is a spacious Church with a dome, which can not be compared to the value of no arch in the Czech Republic. In the Church ought to pay attention to ancient paintings on the walls.
