On Kant island, outside of the northeast corner of the Cathedral, is a memorial in the form of a small open room with columns, adjacent to the wall of the temple and built on the burial place of a prominent philosopher, the founder of classical philosophy - Immanuel Kant.

After the death of Kant in 1804 the ashes of the great philosopher was buried in the Professor's burial place, located on the North side of the Cathedral. In 1880 over the tomb chapel was built in neo-Gothic style, where they remained until 1918. To the 200th anniversary of Immanuel Kant on the ruins of the chapel Friedrich Lars had erected a structure in the form of an open pillared hall with the Cenotaph on a small pedestal. The new extension, extant, is very different architectural solutions from the Cathedral and looks independent structure. In the memorial complex of Immanuel Kant is the stone colonnade on the podium and a massive sarcophagus (Cenotaph) of dark granite on a pedestal. On the wall of a Cathedral attached a plaque with embossed years of life of the philosopher.

After the August bombing in 1944 and April fighting the Soviet Army in 1945 from the whole architectural complex of the Cathedral was not destroyed were only Kant's tomb. From the total destruction of the temple in Soviet times, saved the world famous burial greatest philosopher and thinker of the eighteenth century. In August 1960 the memorial of Immanuel Kant is subject to state protection, but nowadays is an object of cultural heritage of Federal importance).

The grave of Immanuel Kant is located in a picturesque, green area surrounded by canals and is considered one of the most revered places of interest in Kaliningrad.
