At the foot of Bjelasica where the beginning takes the Tara river, is the town Kolasin. Is considered a young city of Montenegro in comparison with others. Despite this fact, the city's history is steeped in heroism and the spirit of resistance – kolašin has long been occupied by the Turks.

The town as it can be seen today, was originally only surrounded by a guard of the fortress belonging to the Turks. Then, in the middle of the XVII century, the town got its name, which dates back to the Turkish "kolasi" — the commander who led the military garrison. The city was liberated from the Turks only in the late nineteenth century, followed by the emigration of the Muslims.

These historical milestones are reflected in the expositions krasinskiego Museum. Here tourists and locals offered to learn about the history of the city, about the most important changes that he has experienced in his albeit short, but tragic story. Visitors can experience the rich ethnographic, historical and artistic collections.

Today, the city is also a popular ski resort in Montenegro it is actively developing environmental and ski tourism. Kolasin receives foreign investments which go into the construction of new hotels and casinos, and other tourist facilities. In the height of tourist season, the city looks very lively with restaurants, bars and Nightclubs.
