Krasnodar Philharmonic concert hall, located in the city center at the intersection of two streets of Gogol and red, is one of the largest in the South, concert organizations, which has plenty of creativity. The main function of the Philharmonic is the organization and holding of concerts. The Philharmonia is in a beautiful three-storey building, erected in 1909 to the design of F. O. Shekhtel.

The resolution on the basis of the Krasnodar regional Philharmonic society was published in 1939, the same year in the newspaper "Bolshevik" there was an announcement about the opening of the concert season. During the great Patriotic war due to the occupation of the city Philharmonic ceased operations. The situation changed in October 1943, when a concert organization going again. In 1944, the Philharmonic hall was comprised of nine pop brigades, theater show, a song and dance ensemble, theatre-music hall. At the end of the 60-70s, at the Krasnodar Philharmonic society was restored Kuban Cossack choir, and also created a huge number of pop groups, which became known throughout Russia.

Today at the Philharmonic offers six creative teams. They continue to adhere to the best traditions of Russian Philharmonic of the case. The teams occupy the leading place in the musical culture of the South, their performances are extremely successful and very popular. Each team consists of folk and honored artists of Russia, the Kuban, as well as laureates of Russian and international competitions.

In 1997, the Philharmonic concert hall was named after composer, people's artist of the USSR G. F. Ponomarenko. Every year for one season Philharmonic performs over 1200 concerts. For many years teams successfully touring not only in the Russian regions and foreign countries - Poland, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Norway, Greece, Finland, UK.
