Krasnoyarsk Museum center, the largest in Siberia presentation platform for contemporary art not only in Russia but in Europe as well as one of the most famous museums in the territory of the city of Krasnoyarsk.

The Museum is located on the embankment of the Yenisei river, one of the most unique and beautiful historical places of the city, where in 1628 the Cossacks under the command of the voivode A. Dubno laid Ostrog fortress "Krasny Yar". The appearance of the Museum building in the historical part of the city has created a new urban ensemble. The Museum building was designed under the leadership of the Russian architect A. S. Temerkhanov.

The history of the Krasnoyarsk Museum center began in April 1987 as the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Central V. I. Lenin Museum. It was the thirteenth and last of the established in the USSR such museums. In 1991, the Museum received a new name - Krasnoyarsk cultural-historical Museum center. With regard to the activity profile, unlike traditional museums, it is focused on mapping the past and future of culture, and to the vision of the present. One of the main tasks of the Museum center is the definition of contemporary cultural values, but also values of a developing society.

The total area of the exhibition hall of the Museum is 2500 sq m and the area of temporary exhibitions about 1037 sqm in Total the Museum has 15725 units, of which 14225 – items of the main Fund.

Currently the structure of the Krasnoyarsk Museum centre consists of a library, international cultural center, educational center, exhibition center, photo gallery, Department of contemporary artistic practices, research division, Department of foundations, the center of network programs, resource center, information center and development center. In the Museum center also has a conference hall with modern equipment, with 250 seats, a Museum shop, and cozy cafes.
