The Byzantine Museum is one of the most famous museums of the city of Zakynthos (Zante). The Museum is located on the South side of the main square of the city Solomos, named after the Greek poet Dionysios Solomos. The Museum was built after the earthquake of 1953 on the initiative of academician of Manolis Hatzidakis and opened its doors to visitors in 1960.

The Museum is famous for its rich collection of various ecclesiastical items (icons, frescoes, sculptures, etc.). The exhibits in the Museum cover an impressive period of time, starting from the Byzantine period and until the 19th century. The separate exposition is devoted to the works of famous artists, among which a special place is occupied by works Doxaras, Damascene, Koutouzis, Kallergis, Janesa and others. In the Byzantine Museum also houses the facade of the Church of St. Andrew Volinskogo. The Museum also presents a detailed model of the city of Zakynthos in 1930-1950 before the earthquake (the work of John Manesis).
