One of the main cultural attractions of the city of Krasnoyarsk is the Literary Museum named after V. P. Astafiev. The Museum is housed in an old mansion, which formerly belonged to the local bourgeois F. G. Zuckerman. The author of the project of the mansion was a provincial architect V. A. Sokolov. It was one of the best houses in the city, in 1894 lived here L. Telyakovskii - Governor of the Yenisei province. After the revolution F. Zuckerman, together with his family emigrated, after which the building was nationalized. Originally, the building housed one of the first in the city of Krasnoyarsk communes, after a dormitory pilots, and then the mansion was a residence. The idea of creating a literary Museum was first conceived in 1946, immediately after the city had opened a branch of the Union of writers. The initiator of its Foundation the Museum was made by V. P. Astafiev, whose name as a result and was named the Museum.
In June 1997, after a lengthy restoration of the building took place the solemn opening of the Museum of literature. In the Museum you can see the books about Siberia, the great works of the Siberian authors, autographs, rare manuscripts, publications, journals with publications writers of this region.
