Monument to Victor Astafiev is located in the city of Krasnoyarsk, near the banks of the Yenisei river, near the Museum complex on the Arrow. Opening of the monument to the famous Russian writer Concorde took place in November 2006 and was timed to the fifth anniversary of the death of the writer.
V. Astafiev is one of the few writers, who already during his lifetime was called a classic. He was born in 1924 in a small village Oatmeal, near Krasnoyarsk. The first works of Viktor Astafyev was printed in 1951, the Famous writer brought his novels such as the Damned and killed", "King of fish", as well as the cycles of short stories "the Last bow" and "Shepherd and shepherdess". Nearly 4-meter-high statue Astafieva full-length, mounted on a bronze pedestal, deployed face-to-reserve "Stolby" and Oatmeal village, where he spent his childhood writer. This is the village he described in his novel "the Last bow".
The monument was made by the Moscow sculptor Igor Linevich-Jaworski. According to the Chairman of the regional Union of artists S. Anufriev, the competition were exhibited six projects from Moscow, Krasnoyarsk and Wedge. As a result, the jury voted Moscow sculptor. Architectural realisation of this project involved the honored Russian architect A. Temirkanov. In sculpture pronounced the main features that reflect the character of the writer: simplicity and vigor.
We opened a monument to the writer's son Andrew and his grandchildren Victor and Pauline. In the opening ceremony of the monument to Victor Astafiev was attended by friends of the writer, heads of city and regional administration, as well as members of the Legislative Assembly and cultural workers.
