Museum-estate of V. I. Surikov in Krasnoyarsk is one of the main attractions of the city.

Old Siberian Cossack farmstead is situated in the heart of the city and was built in XIX - early XX art. It consists of a house, outbuilding, outbuildings and garden. The heart of the Museum-estate is a two – storey larch house, which was built in the early 1830s and protected from fire by the so-called firewall - stone wall. Larch house has been preserved until today in its original form.

In this house in January of 1848, was born Russian painter V. I. Surikov. In twenty years, the Siberian went to Petersburg for training and then become famous Russian historical painter. At the time, while the artist was in St. Petersburg and Moscow, lived in the house his mother and brother. Of home Surikov Konchalovsky's family cared for many decades. In the 1930s, the artist's daughter E. Surikov and O. Konchalovsky gave the house as a gift to the city.

Memorial art Museum on Lenin street was opened in 1948 in honor of the 100 years since the birth of the great artist. In its Foundation the Museum staff helped her daughter V. I. Surikov. Thanks to their efforts, on the ground floor was restored household environment of lived here family. A little later in the house-Museum conveyed the artist's works, which until that time was kept by the family members of a patron of P. Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov helped Surikov to go to St. Petersburg and was paid for his teaching at the Imperial Academy of arts. However, the main source of revenue exhibits were the heirs of Surikov. Due to this, the Museum now holds a significant art collection of works by V. I. Surikov - about 100 of his works.

On the second floor you can learn about the work of the famous artist. Workshop Surikov was the largest room, located on the second floor. In addition, the Museum houses personal belongings of the artist, original letters and photos.

The status of the Museum-estate of the house was in 1983, In 2003 there was a monument to V. Surikov sculptor Yu Zlotys.
