Kroměříž – a fairly large town located a few dozen kilometers from zlín. Its main attraction is the castle of the same name, under the protection of UNESCO. This citadel is the favorite residence of the bishops and archbishops of Olomouc - acted as the backdrop to many important historical events. For example, in 1848-1849, in the halls of this castle deputies were going to discuss the text of the first Austrian Constitution. The time of the founding of the castle of the XI century. At first it was a Gothic building, which has undergone a lot of changes, and eventually was transformed into the Renaissance style. This happened in the sixteenth century. The castle became more suitable for everyday life, it consisted of four buildings connected by galleries, and high tower. The space between the castle and the river Morava was transformed into a luxurious garden in which you can locate and artificial ponds, and lush flower gardens, and secluded benches, surrounded, as by a screen, businessactivity, and bright pavilions, colonnades and picturesque, and many other places to sit back and relax. All of this exists today. Walking through the garden, adjacent to the Archbishop's Palace, - a pleasure!

But back to the story. To 1643 in the relentless Thirty years ' war, the castle was completely destroyed. And in 1665 on the old Foundation through the efforts of Italian architects, a new Palace in the classical style. That is what we see now.
