Exceptional cave is located near the village of Devetaki in Bulgaria. 18 km on southwest from the cave is the town of Lovech. You can find other names of this cave – Ocnita or Maarata.
The entrance to the cave is quite large: 35 m wide and 30 m in height. After the entrance, visitors enter a 40-meter corridor, which extends into the great hall. After 200 m there are two branches. The size of the input in the right branch is 2, 5 m in height and 5 to 7 m in width. The corridor of this branch gradually expands and enters the hall, the area of which is slightly greater than 500 sq. m. At the end of the right branch is a small round gallery, called "altar". Left branch, unlike the dry and warm right has a more humid climate. Through the Central hall of the left branch and on its entire length, which is about 2 km, flows a stream, then flowing into the river Osam.

Exceptional cave is rich in remains of the culture of the times 6 to 4 thousand years BC, i.e. the period of the new stone age. In the middle of the last century is Exceptional cave was going to be a warehouse, and therefore it was conducted in many studies. The researchers concluded that in different historical times this cave was inhabited by people. The earliest discovered remains of human life scientists refer to the period of 70 thousand years BC, i.e. to the middle Paleolithic period.
