The temple of Guanylin is one of the attractions of Luoyang, located 7 kilometres South of the city. The Church was built in 1596 during the reign of Emperor the Renaissance from the Ming dynasty.

The fame of the temple also received as a Chinese tomb of General Washington, who lived in the era of the three kingdoms. In Chinese history, this man has earned the respect of different faiths: Buddhists, and Confucians, and Taoists.

Guan Yu was killed by the citizens of the Kingdom Wu: by the conspiracy, they sent the head General in another realm, but their vile intent was discovered. The body of Guan Yu was carved from wood and buried along with the head for the South gate of Luoyang, exactly where was afterwards built the temple. Emperors of later dynasties revered General, worshipping him as the God of war.

The appearance of the building is the embodiment of traditional China architectural style, when the basis of the construction – symmetry. The main gate is the entrance to the first hall of the temple is richly decorated with a series of reliefs illustrating the legend of General Guan Yue. The next two halls are decorated with no less elegant and show a collection of epitaphs, ancient steles, stone inscriptions. All this is valuable for researchers of ancient Chinese history. A place where are buried the General Guan Yu, is just behind the third room.
