Nasugbu is a small town in the province of Batangas, on Luzon island. Located on the shores of the South China sea, it is famous for its sandy beaches and excellent opportunities for water sports, primarily diving.
Perhaps the most popular dive destination Nasugbu is Treasure Island – a small private island a couple of kilometers from the city. You can visit the half-flooded cave Bats or dive into the Blue Hole – a place, which is inhabited by giant octopuses, cuttlefish and turtles. Near the island beneath the sea lie the remains of an old barge, which are especially popular with underwater photographers.
Another interesting place in the vicinity Nasugbu – Islands twin Islands, which are actually submerged rocks sticking out of the water with the tops. Immersed in the sea, you can see colonies of corals, colourful tropical fish and real sharks. Nearby is the so-called Pink Wall is almost vertical reef, covered with thousands of pink coral, which scurry around green turtles and small fish.
To the North of the Islands are twin Islands located in the Cape Fuego, near the shores of which lie the remains of the sunken once a Spanish Galleon. Still perfectly preserved anchor, rope and ship chain. This place is considered suitable for novice divers.
Himself Nasugbu long remained unremarkable provincial town, even the date of Foundation of which still remains unknown. However, a year before the outbreak of the Second World war archaeologists who conducted excavations in the surrounding area, made the discovery on a national scale – there was found a wooden statue of a cow, which is of great importance for understanding the ancient history of the Philippines. The find was immediately transferred to the national Museum, but, unfortunately, did not survive the destruction of the war years, and was destroyed. However, a year after the end of the war in the vicinity of Nasugbu were newly found archaeological artifacts that have become the most important prehistoric artifacts in the country.
In 2007 the President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared Nasugbu, known for its beaches, special tourist zone. Immediately a plan was developed the development of this zone, which was approved by the Philippine Tourist Association. In accordance with the plan in the national Park of mount Pico de loro was built holiday village Hamilo Coast area of 59 sq km to the ferry pier at which boats arriving directly from Manila Bay.
