Cathedral Trinity Church in the Maykop is one of the architectural landmarks of the city. The Cathedral has a very interesting and long history.

In February 1881 the inhabitants of the Western part of Maikop, meeting at public meeting, discussed the question of the erection of the Church, as the churches were only in the city center and in the other part. In may of the same year it became known that the construction of the Church began without the permission of the diocesan authorities. Resulting in the Consistory decided to ask the local police Department to prohibit the collegiate assessor, G. A. Kovalenko to continue the construction of the temple, otherwise he will be prosecuted.

In may 1882 Kovalenko once again sends a petition to the Bishop for permission to build a new Church, attaching to it the project and the estimate. Then Caucasian spiritual Consistory still gave permission for the erection of the Church. In October, 1882, in a solemn ceremony the laying of the temple in honor of the Church of the Holy Trinity. But due to the lack of funds from the parishioners of the temple's construction was finished only in 1888 the Consecration of the monastery took place on 12 March 1889

The Church walls were built of brick, laid on a stone Foundation. The building had five deaf wooden domes, the roof was covered with iron. Mounted on four pillars bell tower housed separately from the temple. Around the Church was painted a wooden fence. The temple had one Church consecrated in the name of the Holy Trinity. In 1900, the Church was built refectory.

In 1937 the Church was closed. In 1943, during the German occupation, it was opened and never closed. In 1994, Trinity Church became the Cathedral again created Maikop-Armavir diocese. In 1999, the Church has built a new altar, and in 2001 the belfry. Built in 2004 auxiliary building. In 2006, he completed construction of a baptismal Church in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh, and a year later was built the office. Also in 2007, for the Cathedral was made by six bells, which in the same year was consecrated and installed in the belfry of the Church.
