A memorial dedicated to the memory of soldiers of the 131st motorized rifle brigade, is located in Maykop, at the entrance from the side of Kamennomostskiy village. The memorial was established on the southern outskirts of the city to honour the soldiers who died during the storming of Grozny, which occurred in January 1995
At the time of Maikop 131-I motorized rifle brigade took possession of the Grozny train station, but then during the day was brutally mauled and shot of the weapons of the militias. In Maikop brigade killed almost all the officers and soldiers of management, and its commander Colonel I. Savin. Twenty-six tanks that entered the city of Grozny, only six were not burned. Of one hundred and twenty infantry fighting vehicles were evacuated from Grozny only eighteen. In addition, as a result of fights were completely destroyed six anti-aircraft complexes "Tunguska".
