Alexandra Park gardens is located on the South Bank of the Yarra river in Melbourne, opposite Federation square and downtown. The Park was founded in 1901 Carlo Qahtani, chief engineer of the Department of public facilities, but today it is listed as a Heritage of the Victorian era due to its historical and archaeological value.

Since the founding of Melbourne in 1835, the territory where today the Orchards Alexandra, was used for logging, grazing and the production of bricks. It regularly floods happened, until in 1900 was not excavated channel that has strengthened and expanded the Yarra river. Immediately after this came the plans to create a Park – it was to break to the visit of the Duke of York in may 1901.

In 2001 Alexandra Gardens opened a skate Park with a café and a first aid station, right next to Canary palm trees planted in 1911.

Along the Yarra river there are numerous clubs of rowing, and today you can often see how the coach of the team rides a Bicycle along the river with a megaphone in hand and gives instructions to his players. By the way, here trained Olympic Champions from the team "Oarsome Foursome". Every year in December is an Australian Rowing Regatta to see thousands of residents and visitors.

On numerous lawns of the Park is considered to picnics, especially during the Christmas holidays. Among the Park trees – elms, oaks and palm trees, between which the flower beds, including a bed in the form of a star, symbolizing the Commonwealth.
