The cat Museum was organized in 1993, the gallery "INTER". The Museum contains a large collection of artistic works that show cats through the eyes of artists. It includes works from artists in different genres. It is a sculptural work, graphic and pictorial. Tapestry, ceramics, batik, dolls, costumes and installations. As well as books, photographs, postcards, Souvenirs, films, toys and other items associated with cats.

The cat Museum is a welcoming house. The cat is presented to the organizers of the mysterious creature that is impossible to solve completely. The cat is the only animal that has been painted by artists of all time. Cat depicted and portrayed now artists of all directions and schools, from realistic art to avant-garde. In the Museum there are no stylistic boundaries, and it does not matter the degree of knowledge of the artist.

In the Museum exposition coexist paintings of the early twentieth century and contemporary works. Next exhibited paintings and sculptures from clay, gold embroidery adjacent to the batik, articles of metal, stone and wood. In the Museum a wonderful collection of works United by themes: "Women and cats", "Cat's eye". Some of the paintings in the exhibition have a special magic. But the main exhibit of the Museum is fluffy Siberian cat.

The Museum's collection have been exhibited abroad. Exhibitions were held in Italy, France, the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Denmark, as well as in Austria.

In the cat Museum hosts the annual beauty contest "cat Woman". The cat picture", held by the Museum, participate children's drawings from all over Russia and CIS. The best works are the children's Museum collection. The Museum conducts auctions and selling exhibitions of works devoted to cats. Periodically there have been demonstrations feline fashion. Dance and theatre groups and film screenings.

The cat Museum in 2004 with the support of the United Nations established the "world cat day" which is celebrated on the first day of March.
