The theater Actor is the theatre, which was established in Moscow by order of the Council of people's Commissars of the USSR in December 1943. He was supposed to perform the function of the laboratory in which he was brought up like movie stars and Directors, and the process of staging performances was by the method of preparation for filming.
The theater is located in a building constructed in 1931-1935, the authors of the project of the building was designed by the architects I. S. C. passport cover The building was used as a cultural center of political convicts.
The first Director of the Theater Actor was G. V. Alexandrov and its artistic Director – S. I. Yutkevich. The troupe consisted of a collective of actors Studio "Mosfilm", which under the leadership of G. Roshal since 1940 and staged some small performances. In the 1946 play by M. Svetlov "Brandenburg gate", the theatre opened its first season. The Director of the play was B. Babochkin.
In 1947, they put on a performance of "Young guard" based on the novel by A. Fadeev. Director was directed by Sergei Gerasimov. This performance was the basis of the same movie, which entered the Golden Fund of Soviet cinema.
In the Theater Actor staged performances, many young, who later became well-known Directors: E. Garin, A. Wild, I. Sudakov, S. Yutkevich, R. Simonov, A. Goncharov, and others. A number of films that can be called outstanding, was released after training on the stage.
At different times in the troupe consisted of: M. Bernes, B. Andreev, Boris Chirkov, E. Garin, G. Vitsin, N. Rybnikov, M. Second By S. Bondarchuk, N. Hooks, M. Ladynina, S. Martinson, R. Nifontova, V. Tikhonov, V. Sanaev, Yumatov, I. Smoktunovsky, K. Luchko, V. Serov, N. Mordyukova and many others. Hudsovet theatre consisted of the greatest Soviet filmmakers. It included Mikhail Romm and Sergei Gerasimov, Y. Reisman and I. Pyriev, Alexandrov and others.
Since 1992 the theatre called "Theatre Actor". Since 2010 chief Director of the theater is Robert Manukyan. The theatre is holding a course for renewal of the repertoire and the preservation of the best traditions of the theatre.
