Street Ludwigstrasse ends Arcade Commanders. It is an open hall with arched arcades height of 20 meters in the style of the loggia dei Lanzi in Florence. In the arcade, built by Friedrich von Partnerom in 1841-44, on the order of Ludwig I, bronze monuments in honor of the Bavarian generals Tilly and the Harm. This Bavarian army monument recalls the German-French war of 1870-71.

Feldherrnhalle was the site of Hitler's failed "Beer hall putsch". As a result, the hall has acquired a certain cult status in Nazi propaganda and therefore closed to visitors.
