Agios Georgios is one of the most famous and popular beach of the island of Naxos. It is located on the West coast of the island only 300-400 m South from the port of Chora (the capital of the island is also known as Chora).

Beautiful beach with fine Golden sand stretching about 1 km, crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Aegean sea, well-developed infrastructure and, of course, the close proximity to the capital from year to year attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. Given a very comfortable sloping descent into the water, Agios Georgios beach is perfect for families with small children.

A significant portion of the beach is equipped with sun loungers and sun umbrellas that can be rented for a modest fee, but generally enough space to accommodate a soft warm sand. Active guests can enjoy various water sports. The beach of Agios Georgios is one of the best places on the island for Windsurfing.

Right on the beach you'll find some excellent tavernas and restaurants, where guests can enjoy traditional local cuisine and spectacular panoramic views, as well as many cafes and bars with soft drinks and snacks. Near the beach there is a good range of excellent hotels and comfortable apartments. However, you can stay in the Choir.

Despite the fact that the beach of Agios Georgios is large enough, it is always crowded (especially on weekends), so lovers of peace should look for a more secluded place.
