Iversky women's monastery located in the town of Vyksa, Nizhny Novgorod region, founded by the venerable Barnabas of Gethsemane in 1863. Barnabas of Gethsemane (Basil Merkulov) was a member of Gethsemane skete of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra. With the active support and care of the elder Barnabas in the nineteenth century Vyksa Iveron monastery became one of the largest monasteries in the diocese and had more than a thousand nuns. In 1927, during the explosion of the main temples of the monastery did not want to leave the monastery sisters chimney were buried alive in their cells.

From 1870 to 1900 in the territory of the temples were built, the bell tower and numerous buildings of cells with outbuildings. The architectural complex of the Iviron monastery included: the Iberian Mother of God Cathedral (1877), the Cathedral of Holy Trinity (1909 architect. P. A. Vinogradov), 68-metre-high bell tower (1876) and the Church of the Dormition (1887). On the top of the belfry was watch playing every fifteen minutes ecclesiastical melody.

We are rebuilding the huge five-domed Cathedral of the Trinity in the pseudo-Russian style, which survived only in the external walls. The Church building is adjacent to two-story hospital building. At the monastery in 2011, was a monument to the Barnabas of Gethsemane.
