The waterfront at Aker Brygge district – the most popular place for recreation and walks in Oslo, located in the city. In 1982. after the closure of the ship yards here accelerated pace began construction of a modern fashionable district. Expensive restaurants and cafes, entertainment centers and shops, residential and office buildings made of glass, metal and brick grew up along the waterfront for several years. About naval past of the area is reminiscent of today only a couple of industrial buildings. Opposite the promenade you can see the old Fort fortress Akershus.
Aker Brygge has attracted not only tourists, but locals come here in good weather to stroll along the Bay, to sit in one of the restaurant barges, listen to street concerts and just watch the sunset and enjoy the surrounding idyllic.
