Trinity Danilov monastery was founded in 1508 Reverend Daniel – one of the most revered saints of Pereslavl. He became known for what was wanted dead strangers – finding bodies of killed, dead, or frozen on the road, which were not needed family, take them to scutelnicu, located on the place where in our days there is a Trinity Danilov monastery.

In 1508, the monk built a wooden Church of All Saints. During the construction of the building here gathered a large number of people eager to devote her life to monasticism. Thus was formed the abode.

It is known that, after a while, childless Vasily III was frequently in Pereslavl, and after his marriage to E. Glinskaya had a son Ivan (the future Tsar Ivan IV (the terrible). On this happy occasion, in 1530, with funds granted by Vasily III, was begun the construction of a stone Trinity Cathedral, the Builder of which was made by Grigory Borisov. The temple of four pillars, has 1 massive head set on high and wide light drum. At first, the Cathedral had a vaulted roof, later replaced by a more simple and practical 4-eskate. Apse − high, faceted. The original temple had 3 portals (North, West and South), decorated with ogee curves. Gables were also keeled, but these days they are hidden under a 4 eskatrol roof.

In 1660 to the Cathedral was built a chapel, in essence, a separate small Church over the burial place of Saint Daniel. Around the same time, the Cathedral was painted by a group G. Nikitin, and S. Savin.

In 1689 Kostroma masters was built belfry, set on a massive, wide base. Its lower storey served to the monks for household needs; the second tier was equipped under the sacristy. The belfry is decorated with picturesque carved arches, a wide tent there is a small hole − rumours.

East of Trinity Church was a small, but very cozy all saints Church Dating Kostroma masters in 1687. The temple was crowned with one dome on a high drum, which was surrounded by a number of innovative features. three-apse much published to the East. The Church was a hospital. In 1753-1788 the years it housed the Seminary, before and after 1882 – religious school. In 1914 the Church was destroyed, it wanted to use as a cemetery. Nowadays, there are many flowers.

The massive building to the South-East of Trinity Cathedral refectory with the Church of the Praise of the virgin Mary, built on donations of I. P. Prince Baryatinsky. The structure features a complex internal structure and beautiful exterior finish. Inside on the second floor has a large refectory (the largest of the ancient houses of Pereslavl). It also housed the rectory quarters and other commercial and residential spaces. A large refectory Pokhvalinskii wonderful temple is long, narrow faceted apse, the height of which is 2 floors.

Next to the refectory is a large two-storey fraternal building, which housed the monks ' cells, hothomemade in the basement were equipped glaciers for food storage.

Trinity Cathedral are Holy gates of the monastery into a brick wall. Once they were finished with the gate Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God (1700-1702).

In the time of trouble Trinity Danilov monastery was burned and destroyed. Survived only a stone building erected by the monk Daniel. Soon the monastery began to revive. Its heyday began due to the activity of the Rostov Metropolitan Jonah of Sysoyevich who discovered the relics of St. Daniel. In the monastery has been visited by pilgrims and to receive donations. Survived even well dug Daniel.

In 1923 the monastery was closed, had been removed and melted all the bells. Later, the monastery was transferred to the Museum and was even partially restored. In 1995 returned to the believers. Currently undergoing restoration.
