Trinity Danilov monastery was founded in 1508 Reverend Daniel – one of the most revered saints of Pereslavl. In 1689 Kostroma masters was built belfry, set on a massive, wide base. Its lower storey served to the monks for household needs; the second tier was equipped under the sacristy. The belfry is decorated with picturesque carved arches, a wide tent there is a small hole − rumours.

Its heyday began due to the activity of the Rostov Metropolitan Jonah of Sysoyevich who discovered the relics of St. Daniel. In the monastery has been visited by pilgrims and to receive donations.
