Reserve "Currumbin", located in the town of Currumbin on the Gold Coast of Australia, world fame brought huge flocks of wild rainbow parrots who come here every day to eat specially prepared for them treats. The reserve hosts many events, arranges shows and attractions, such as wild dog Dingo, the show wild birds or feeding a giant saltwater crocodiles. It also has ultra modern veterinary clinic and rehabilitation center, where every day brings hundreds of sick and injured animals.
The reserve was established by the beekeeper by Alex Griffiths in 1947, who thus wanted to save their flower plantations from the devastation of the local population of rainbow parrots. Complementary feeding picturesque birds soon became local curios into a tourist attraction. And still twice a day budgerigars unimaginable colors come to the reserve to feed them, now do visitors. Besides parrots, the reserve boasts one of the world's largest collections of Australian animals: there are Tasmanian devils, koalas, kangaroos – plain and wood, wombats, various reptiles. Pass-through aviary is the largest in the southern hemisphere. To see almost the entire territory of the reserve, a ride on the miniature railway which operates here since 1964.
In the 60 years of the history of the reserve "Currumbin" visited by millions of tourists, and today he continues to acquaint everyone with the amazing wildlife of Australia.
