Institute of contemporary arts Perth – primary in Western Australia venue for exhibitions of visual art and performances by various cultural groups. Located in a building that has historic and cultural value, PICA serves to promote contemporary art to the masses. The building, built in 1896, during the first 40 years of its history it was a city school for boys and girls, then a school for boys only (until 1958), part of the technical school and finally, in 1988, became an exhibition centre.

Throughout the year in PICA held a variety of events – exhibitions, performances, screenings, presentations and more. Here educational programmes designed to strengthen the relationship between art and audience. Today PICA plays a key role in the socio cultural life of Perth, helping the artists at different stages of their career.
