The temple has a large weight in the Buddhist structure in Thailand, its full name is Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Woramahawihan, abbreviated also called Wat Yai. Founded the temple was in 1357 during the reign of king Maha Thammaracha I States Sukhothai.
