Palace Clausholm is located in the Eastern part of the Jutland Peninsula at the mouth of the river Gudenå. The castle is one of the important historical attractions in Denmark.

The founder of the Palace in 1690 became the Grand Chancellor of the Kingdom Conrad Detlev von Reventlow. With 1718-1730 years the castle was in the possession of king Frederik IV, he gave instructions to build himself a castle and beautiful gardens around it. Over the last forty years in the Palace was made complex reconstruction throughout. Today we see a beautiful castle in Baroque style, surrounded by many magnificent fountains, the Park and the manicured avenues.

Palace Clausholm was the family nest mistress of king Frederik IV. In 1711 at the ball in the city of Kolding Frederick IV met a beautiful young 18-year-old girl, the Countess Anna Sofia Reventlow and fell in love at first sight. At that time the king was already married to Queen Louise. Mother of Countess Anna was against communication with the king and put the daughter in the family estate of Clausholm. In 1712 Frederick IV secretly stole his beloved and married her. In 1721, after the death of Queen Louise, they were able to officially marry, and Anna became a full-fledged Queen. After the death of king Frederik IV came to power, his son from his first marriage, Christian VI, who hated stepmother. The king banished her back to the family estate Clausholm, she had no right to leave the Palace.

From 1800 to the present time the castle has genus Berner-Silden-Holsten-Brauerei. Castle was awarded the Europa Nostra for the perfect restoration.
