The Museum of fine arts in Randers is located in the city center. The Museum presents the most outstanding works by artists from Denmark. Special attention is given to works relating to the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Museum was founded in 1887, it contains a collection that has more than 4 thousand paintings, including works by Danish artists Christopher, Wilhelm Eckersberg, Christen Koebke, Wilhelm Hammershoi, and many others. Artists representing the 20th century, became Wilhelm Landstrom, Wilhelm Freddie and Asger Jorn. The Golden age of Danish painting is represented by works Koebke, Akersberga, Marstrand, Keene. Danish naturalism transferred in the works Hammershoj, Ferdinand Willemsen and others. Also features works by contemporary artists.

At the moment the Museum is housed in a cultural centre of Randers. The architect who designed this building, was Flemming Lassen. It was opened in 1969. In February 2009 the Danish 3XN won the right to construct a new building for the Museum of fine arts. The new building, linking the city and the province, nature and art. Occupying an area of 7550 square meters, the building has three exhibition galleries, an auditorium, a cafeteria and a shop.

Annually the Museum is visited by many tourists, hosts programs for students and pupils.
