Mittersill – Austria resort city in the Federal state of Salzburg, is located in the district of Zell am see. Mittersill is located at 790 metres above sea level, at the intersection of major transportation routes through the valley of the Salzach. Despite its location, Mittersill has managed to maintain its charm as a small mountain town.
In the 14th century already existed Mittersill has become an important transport hub, through which passed the salt, iron, copper, wine, fruits and cloth.
In 1918 the family Stolyarov, Ornsteiner opened his Studio in Mittersill, which in 1945 had made a wonderful skiing. The workshop gathered momentum, and in 1953, has a new name – companies like Blizzard, which has become one of the leading brands in the world of skiing.
In 1939 in Mittersill saw the beginning of the cable car over the mountain ridge, which was to become a Transporter for various goods and commodities. Were erected two pillars, each with a height of 280 meters, one of steel and the other from the tree (the tallest wooden structure ever created). However, due to the outbreak of the Second world war the construction of the cable car was stopped and both feet were dismantled in 1950.

Once in Mittersill castle rose. It was built in the 12th century, but was rebuilt several times, as has been destroyed during the numerous fires and various wars. Now it houses a four-star hotel and restaurant. The Church Of St. Leonard, built in the 13th century in Gothic style, later rebuilt and decorated the pulpit in Rococo style. From the old decor has been preserved stone statue of St. Leonard of the 15th century. Dressy Church. Anna was built in the 18th century in the Rococo style of a Tyrolean. Currently in the city there are two large industrial enterprises that provide jobs to the population. The tourist business is also actively developed in the region, mainly due to skiers and snowboarders who come here in the winter.
