Secure Rupite area is one of the most famous places in the Balkans. Its popularity Rupite obliged mineral springs, an extinct volcano Jacket-Gore, and the fact that it is the birthplace of Bulgarian prophetess Vanga. Is Rupite area near the Bulgarian town of Petrich near the village of Rupite on a rocky volcanic hills, the whole area is considered a huge crater of an ancient volcano.

Since 1962 the part of this territory with an area of about half a hectare is a natural attraction. Mineral springs have an average temperature of 74°, give up to 35 litres per second. Floodplain natural forest mainly consists of white poplar. Here there is a huge variety of species of snakes, one of them is the rare cat snake, 201 species of birds, including Mediterranean, in which Bulgaria will not find anywhere else – perezoso Mediterranean, masked and lesser grey Shrikes. In the period of wintering and migrating here you can find a small cormorant that is recorded in the world red book.

On the South side, and at the foot of volcanic hills, are the ruins of the ancient city, which bore the name of Heraclea of Sintica and was the chief city of synth – ancient Thracian tribe. The existence of the city refer to the period from 4th century BC to the 6th century BC

On-site location is the Church of St. Petka Bulgarian, which was erected in 1994 on the money prophetess Vanga, two years before her death. Vangelia Gumerova born 1911, and his last years were spent in this locality in a small house, and near which the temple was built. Svetlin Rusev, the famous Bulgarian artist, covered it with frescoes in a realistic style, which is beyond the scope approved by the Orthodox canons.
