"Fantasilandia is one of the largest amusement parks in Latin America with an area of 8 hectares, which is located in downtown Santiago. It was opened in 1978 in the green Park O'higgins. The Park entrance is opposite the Arena Santiago de Chile (Movistar Arena).
Park Fantasilandia" is also known for its modern attractions, as it became the first theme Park in South America with a roller coaster Galaxy with 360 degree turns, and yet only one in South America slide "boomerang".
Amusement Park "Phantasialand" - that's the idea behind Gerardo Artery, who in the late 70-ies decided to create a space of fun, entertainment and relaxation in the heart of the capital of Chile. In 1977 the mayor of Santiago, Patricio Mekis, has signed a project to create a "Chilean Disneyland" in O'higgins Park, land lease for 50 years under the mandatory condition of preservation of all species of trees of the Park.
Since the beginning of 1978, the Park began its work with eight classic rides: the carousel "Octopus", a roller coaster "Galaxy" chamber of horrors "haunted manor", children's rides, horseback cars "Ford T". With time added fabulous and extreme rides such as Xtreme Fall, Top Spin, Raptor and slide "boomerang".
At the end of 2007, the Park opened a new attraction "Tsunami", which replaced the classic "Splash". This enhanced version of the "surge" consists of a huge single drop, which creates a large wave and offers for family entertainment. Also opened new rides in the children's area of the Park: "Mini Scooter", Villa Mágica, "Dragon", "Ducklings", and many others.
Park Fantasilandia", in addition to the opening of new attractions for every season, also modernizing and upgrading their previously constructed close to the entrance to O'higgins Park now has a new giant colorful logo Park, reconstructed in the 3D area Villa Magica and in zone Pirate Revenge, which can now include a family attraction Pirates and pirate ship restaurant, attracting more visitors to this part of the Park.
In the summer of 2013 Park Fantasilandia" for the first time received the award from IAAPA (International Association of amusement parks and attractions (RAAPA)).
Amusement Park "Phantasialand" Park is considered to be safe, because throughout its history has been only two incidents, one of which was associated with health problems of the visitor and ended tragically. The second incident occurred due to a malfunction of the attraction, but without the tragic consequences. Resulting in the Ministry of health ordered the closure of the attraction and stricter security checks all the other attractions of the Park.
