On the street Zabotina is the Church of Peter and Paul. According to the preserved written sources, the Church was built between 1891 and 1893 for years. The history of the Church Peter and Paul Church is directly connected with the appearance of Peter and Paul villages near the town. In these places it was decided to create villages that occurred after a series of tragic events of 1831, because it was at this time a terrible epidemic of cholera has claimed many lives. Existing at the time the city cemetery are unable to mark their territory so a large number of bodies, for which reason it was necessary to organize the burials on the sparsely populated territories in the tract called Rykova.

In 1868 in the graves of cholera patients, according to the blessing of his Eminence Anthony, was erected a small chapel, which, after some time, turned into a full-fledged temple. Construction work was funded by M. I. Bolotov – Shuisky merchant and owner of a small site in the village.

A few years later, the village of Rakovo was renamed Petropavlovsk, which corresponded to the name of the temple. Until 1876 the Church was assigned to the resurrection Cathedral, but was then found necessary funds to the formation of a separate parish, therefore, the Church became a parish. It is considered that the erection of the Church was somewhat unfortunate in the matter of architectural design and capacity, so in the 90-ies of the 19th century decided to rebuild.

On the site of the dilapidated Church of St. Peter and Paul built a new for which was chosen as a more appropriate sublime territory. Construction work was continued, beginning with 1891 and ending in 1893. The temple was sanctified by his Eminence Archbishop Sergius of what happened on 28 October 1893. The construction of the bell tower took place in 1896.

Peter and Paul Church is a small Church, built in a unique architectural style. It forms several large, but the front design is combined with traditional design tonowski architecture. The main quadrangle is kuroobraznye form, which completes the octahedral curved roof with a somewhat pointed end in the Central part. Here abut lower volumes, located in a rectangular altar with a triangular protruding apse and elongated, and situated on the West side of the porch.

As for the facades of the rectangle, then they have a three-part symmetrical composition, the angles mounted with wide blades with vertically arranged a number of his pants. The decoration of the porch and chancel are beautiful framing of the arched openings and equipped with teeth wide eaves, as well as having the crotch angle of the scapula.

The interior of the Peter and Paul Church you can see the great cast-iron floor and a large oven. The iconostasis is made of wood and carved, it housed more than twenty icons, painted on an embossed gold background. It is important to note that the weight of the most impressive bells reached 160 pounds.

At the Church of Peter and Paul were parish school, which was housed in a separate room.

In 30-ies of the 20th century the Church was closed, the fence, the dome and the bell tower were completely lost. At the end of 90-ies the Church was given into the power of the ROC, because before that it was used as a warehouse. Today, the Church is returning, including the bell tower.
