Trinity Cathedral was built in 1868. The first wooden Church was built on this place even earlier in 1796. The Greek gymnasium, founded in 1826, existed on the basis of this temple. Eventually decided the wooden Church to disassemble and instead to build a larger Cathedral. And so, in 1868, the parishioners were able to come to the new Church.

The most revered relics are in the Cathedral. It's the relics of St. Luke. During his lifetime and after his death, he made an extraordinary healing. The Soviet authorities wanted to close the Cathedral. He managed to defend, saved the Church largely through the efforts of the Greek community. But two Ministers paid with his life for the salvation of Archpriest N. Mezentseva and Simferopol and Crimea of Bishop Porfiry in 1937-1938 were shot. The Church in 1997 ranked these priests to the rank of saints for local veneration.
