Island Tsougria Photo: Island Tsougria

To the South-East of the island of Skiathos, which is located in the archipelago of the Northern Sporades in the Aegean sea, is a group of small uninhabited islets. Beautiful beaches and beautiful nature attracts lovers of peace and relaxation. As a rule, these Islands are visited by only a one-day trip, because there's nowhere to stay.

The largest and most popular of these Islands – Tsougria (owned by the municipality of Skiathos). It is located just 3 km in front of the harbour of Skiathos town. Tsougria is a very green island, covered with pine and eucalyptus. On the island there are several private beaches. The most visited of them lies in a cosy sheltered Bay with crystal clear turquoise waters, ideal for snorkeling, so bring along special equipment. The sunset in the water remains long enough not deep, that will be very useful and safe if you're travelling with kids. There is a possibility to rent a sun lounger and parasol. On this beach there is a tavern where you can eat very well.

On the opposite side of the island is more secluded beach that can be reached by private boat or taking a walk through the forest. He's not as good as the beach in the Bay, but it is always quiet and calm.

Tsougria is "a little piece of secluded Paradise," which is certainly worth a visit. To reach the island is not difficult. From the port of Skiathos regular tourist boat, and you can take a boat to rent and to get yourself.
