Private archaeological Museum of Cassinelli began operations in January 1971, offering your visitors to see archaeological artifacts found on the territory of Latin America from the Chavin culture (1500 BC) to the Inca culture (1532 ad).

The history of this Museum is closely linked with Jose Luis Cassinelli Mazzei who devoted his life to searching for artifacts relating to the art of ancient Peru". He managed to gather quite a large collection of objects - the products of the ancient craftsmen of stone, bone, textiles, metal. A collection of more than 6, 000 ceramic amazing beauty, crafted twenty major pre-Columbian cultures Mochica, Nazca, Recuay, etc.

The Museum also has a valuable collection of jewelry made of gold and silver, the collection of textiles and other archaeological sites of the cultures of Chavin, Moche, the Chimu. The emphasis in this exhibition is reserved ceramic portrait vessels - Waco.

The idea of collecting antiquities, obviously, born with a sense of love for Peru, which led Jose Cassinelli for 60 years - from the purchase of small ceramic figurines - the birth of the Museum.
