Ulcinj is located on the Adriatic coast, the geographical position at the time, ordered the city to build a reliable fortification structure. The writer spent 5 years in captivity, and one of the local girls inspired Cervantes to create the legendary image of Dulcinea, which, in turn, inspired the literary exploits of the hero of the novel don Quixote.
