Ethnographic Museum located in the town of Berkovitsa truly is a repository of cultural monuments (both material and spiritual) of the city and region. Is he in the House of Serbian (the second name "Carmencita Kasta" - in honor of one of the local families), the traditional urban architecture of an old mansion.
Part of the Museum's collection represents various ceramics, made in a special style Berkowitz, various carpets masters of the neighboring town of Chiprovtsi, national costumes karakachan people (small people living in the local mountains), dresses the fashionistas of the 20-ies of the XIX century in addition, Museum visitors can learn a variety of traditional Handicrafts, which once flourished in the city: the life and working conditions of the craftsmen potters, coppersmiths, sampadelic, etc.
Of interest to visitors of the Museum is the device of a bath, especially a method of heating the water: on one wall hung two jugs of clay, and at this moment in the kitchen, stoked wall oven, thus, heats the water in the jugs. In addition, there were ceramic sewage system for water drainage and an old kitchen sink for dishes.
A ticket to the ethnographic Museum allows tourists to visit two more interesting for visitors. First, the house-Museum of poet Ivan Vazov, which is located near the Museum of Ethnography. Here the poet lived and worked in the period 1879-1880, the House was built in the early NINETEENTH century; for, 1964, he officially declared an architectural monument of culture of national significance.
