In a picturesque location on the banks of the river Ilovlya situated Ethnographic Museum of folk architecture and life of the don Cossacks under the open sky. The idea of creating such a Museum came up to one of the secretaries of the Communist party in 1979 and in may 1982 under the guidance of local historian and ethnographer V. Chitina Cossack farmstead was ready to accept its first guests.
The Museum represents the estate of a strong middle of a Cossack of the late 19th - early 20th centuries with authentic exhibits, which recreates the life of the Cossacks in the pre-revolutionary period. The Museum buildings were transported from nearby villages: hut (house) was taken from Tragetasche (belonged to the Cossack Sarcoma), summer kitchen, carport and bases were built on the site with the use of rubble stone from Sedona. The exhibits were collected from villages and farms of the Volgograd region.
The Museum features a wide range of traditions and ceremonies of the don Cossacks. Most clearly presents holidays: off to service, wedding and Yuletide, the Trinity and the Carnival. Museum visitors are introduced to the old recipes of dishes: Kulaga (noodles with dried fruits), tarantula (meat dish of lamb with vegetables), chabuka (baked bream) and nordicom, cream, usuary and Mead. Anyone can participate in the traditional rites of the don Cossacks, to gallop on a horse, and enjoy old Cossack cuisine.
Along with authentic household items, there are playgrounds and live "exhibits" - horses and poultry, which bring a special flavor to the Cossack farmstead. The most valuable exhibits of the ethnographic Museum is the bicentennial of Pavlovo-Posad shawl and beautiful wedding dress, once owned Casacce Kolosova held since 1846 in the village Staromihaylovskoy.
