Beer village Kirin is a part of the area of the eponymous brewery, which is open to the public. The company "Kirin" is one of the four largest brewing industry in Japan. The drink originated in Yokohama by foreigners in 1869, in particular, the American William Copeland, who opened his brewery here. However, fifteen years later, he folded up his business and moved to the United States. A year later, in 1885, a group of foreign and Japanese entrepreneurs opened on the basis of the brewery Copeland "Japanese beer company", all produced beer which was called "Kirin". The name was borrowed from ancient Chinese mythology, which creature Kirin is half dragon, half horse and brings happiness to those who will see it.

By the mid-twentieth century, the company became the first in the beer market in the country, further it enters the international market and is actively developing. Currently the company produces two of the most popular Japanese varieties - Kirin Lager, which is considered the oldest beer brand in Japan, and Ichigan Shibori. In addition, the company owns the right to sell in the country known beer brands, including Budweiser and Heineken. The company "Kirin" has a research and development laboratory, her expertise is also applied in industries such as plant genetics, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Besides beer, it produces a strong and non-alcoholic beverages and food. And in the 80-ies of the "Kirin" not only opened a chain of pubs, but also built several sports complexes and health clubs in the country.
