Sunnmøre Museum is a beautiful ethnographic Museum located 4 km from the town of ålesund on 120 acres of beautiful Park landscape. In the open air Museum, founded in 1931., 50 historic buildings, reflecting different periods of existence of the city – from the middle ages until the early twentieth century.

Most Museum visitors are attracted by the collection of boats of the Vikings, who at the time served as a means for survival. They were used for fishing and for transportation of goods, people, and animals. Walk through the Museum will allow you to see the Church, models of wooden houses and outbuildings, rural and fishing lodges from different places in Norway.

In the main building, located in beautiful surroundings, interesting exhibitions on archeology and culture, about the life of the people living in this region since ancient times.

The Museum is open to the public only in summer.
